But your final interval does not have to be the final phase of your workout.
A cooldown gives your body time to transition gradually from exercise to rest. It does not need to be long or complicated, but those final few minutes of easy movement may help you feel steadier and more comfortable as your heart rate and breathing return toward their normal levels.
